The Accountancy & Finance Division at The ONE Group is currently working with a highly successful manufacturing business based in Northampton to recruit an Experienced Statutory Accountant. This Statutory Accountant will be reporting into the Finance Manager and play a pivotal part in being a strong support to the Finance Manager. As the Statutory Accountant, you will be responsible for the completion of statutory accounts to Auditors and reporting for the company.

As the Statutory Accountant, your key duties will include:

  • Prepare statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP, IFRS, and regulations.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and timely completion.
  • Ensure compliance with UK statutory requirements, including Companies House and HMRC filings.
  • Analyse financial data to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing corporation tax returns, VAT, and other filings.
  • Monitor UK financial legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  • Provide technical guidance on accounting and reporting issues.
  • Assist with forecast, budget and tax reporting.
  • Build strong working relationships with all stakeholders

As the Statutory Accountant, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified Accountant or equivalent
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and UK Tax requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience of statutory accounting experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
