Role Responsibilities
  • Leading the delivery of expert tax consultancy for clients’ operations, including compliance, reporting, and planning
  • Overseeing tax filings for corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations
  • Advising clients on the tax implications of business strategies, conducting tax risk assessments, and implementing mitigation measures
  • Developing and implementing efficient tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions and mitigate risks
  • Supporting clients during HMRC audits and acting as their representative when liaising with tax authorities
  • Assisting clients in establishing and maintaining internal controls to support tax accounting and compliance
  • Staying up-to-date with UK tax legislation and guiding clients on changes and their impact
  • Collaborating with other team leaders to align tax strategies with clients’ broader business objectives
  • Mentoring, developing, and managing junior tax consultants to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning

Candidate Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ACCA, ACA, or CTA qualification is highly preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience in a tax consultancy role, with expertise in corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax, ideally within a leading accountancy firm
  • Extensive knowledge of UK tax code, compliance requirements, and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client projects while meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to clearly explain complex tax strategies to clients and internal teams
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a high level of integrity
  • Proficiency in tax software and accounting systems
