Planning & Product Development Administrator

Location: Northampton

Job summary/purpose

To assist the Planning Production Scheduling Manager in planning activities, industrial reporting for footwear production departments and ensuring that all administration tasks are processed accurately, in line with required timescales and Company expectations. To support the product development team in creating and maintaining product specifications, bill of materials and routes. To own the systems co-ordination for all product development and production planning department.

Responsibilities:

Planning Department

  • Planning activities including: Bottom Floor production planning, weekly ticket confirmation, produce department day sheets and manage box labels.
  • Maintain, update and circulate reports required for planning, production and any other related reports that may be required from time to time.
  • General administration including: database management; updating spreadsheets; preparing, printing and photocopying documents and distributing accordingly
  • To assist when required with planning and input of special/ bespoke orders and development of repair codes.
  • Maintain and update production labour costs within PM system.
  • Progress chase and provide updates on customer orders as required

Product Development Department

  • Create new style specifications and maintain during development of styles. Alter existing style specifications where improvements are implemented. Work with Italian design team and UK product development team to ensure specifications are correct and accurate. Arrange specification sign off with key factory managers.
  • Maintain bill of materials on new and existing specifications and components. Detailing quantities required to the procurement department to ensure they order accurately, correct quantities of materials for bulk production.
  • Create sample chase list for factory and key personnel so that key managers are kept up to date with sample progress. Provide detailed deadline dates of samples so that factory can prioritise workloads. • Compile and administer the despatch of new samples - sending to showrooms around the world. Create despatch notes on the computer system and liaise with warehouse staff to enable prompt despatch. Liaise with the recipients and give details of delivery consignment.
  • Photograph and catalogue all new styles produced. Distribute photographs and collection panels to all stakeholders on site.
  • BOM and Route creation for all repairs (existing and new styles)
  • Be the key reference point for controlling all product configuration and specifications
  • Ensure that all work undertaken is accurate and processed efficiently
  • Support other departments with administrative tasks as required
  • Attend any training/development sessions when required as part of your own career/personal development
  • To follow the principles of good hygiene and housekeeping whilst performing above duties
  • Ensure that Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
  • Operate in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned to meet the varying needs of the business

Knowledge and Skills

  • Previous planning experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent eye for detail, organisational skills and demonstrable experience in meeting targets
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to your work
  • You will be able to produce and edit images on Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Expert user on ERP/MRP systems such as Stealth 3000
  • Expert user on Product Life Cycle management software such as PM
