Design Engineer

Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about design? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Design Support Engineer to join a growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a strong interest in design, eager to learn and develop within a dynamic environment.

Salary: 25,000 - 35,000 (DoE)

Hours: 8am - 4:30pm

Location: Northampton

Why This Role?

Following a period of significant growth and an expanding project pipeline, our client is looking to strengthen their Design & Technical team. To support the next phase of development, they require an additional team member to assist with crucial design tasks and project execution. Reporting to the Head of Technical & Design, this role focuses on CAD edits, project documentation, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modify and revise designs using AutoCAD.
  • Perform routine CAD edits and updates to meet project specifications.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the engineering team, including data entry and electronic filing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to track project schedules and ensure effective communication.
  • Assist in preparing design presentations and project proposals.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a strong interest in CAD and a desire to enhance their skills.
  • Ideally have experience using AutoCAD (though not essential).
  • Be highly organised and comfortable handling routine but critical tasks.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft applications and adept with digital documentation.
  • Demonstrate a team-first mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
