A leading architecture and construction consultancy is seeking an Architectural Assistant to specialise in the Building Safety Act. The Architectural Assistant Role
As an Architectural Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting projects by ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and related regulations. You will work closely with architects, Principal Designers, and Building Control teams, contributing to the successful delivery of projects across multiple sectors. This role offers a unique opportunity to specialise in a critical area of the industry while progressing your architectural career.
Key Architectural Assistant Responsibilities
- Assist in design development, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act.
- Work alongside Principal Designers and Building Control teams to integrate safety and regulatory compliance into project design.
- Support the preparation of technical drawings, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that safety is prioritised throughout the design process.
- Conduct research into legislation, best practices, and industry standards relating to the Building Safety Act.
- Attend client and contractor meetings to support the implementation of safety-focused design strategies.
The Ideal Architectural Assistant
- Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology (or equivalent).
- A strong interest in building safety, compliance, and regulations.
- Some experience working in an architectural practice is desirable but not essential.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software.
- Knowledge or awareness of the Building Safety Act and its implications for design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a specialist area of the industry.
