National Account Manager - Industrial Chemicals

£55,000 Basic + £5,000 Car Allowance + Mileage + £70,000 OTE

Are you a self-motivated sales professional with a proven track record in the chemicals industry? Do you thrive in an autonomous environment where you can take ownership of your success? This is a home-based role with regular travel required to visit clients across the UK. The ideal location is in the Heart of England for ease of access to our customer base.

The Company

Our client is a specialist chemical manufacturer with over a century of manufacturing experience in the UK. They pride ourselves on their unique, patented, food-grade lubricants and coolants, which are used by a diverse range of industries, including food manufacturing, brewing, confectionery, soft drinks, canning, baking, dairy, and general industrial applications.

With a £30M turnover and a team of 35 dedicated staff, they are a growing company with ambitious plans for the future. We are looking for a National Accounts Manager to play a key role in their continued success by managing and developing our extensive customer base.

As a National Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing over 1,000 live and lapsed accounts across the UK, building strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Driving new business development through a strategic and determined approach, leveraging our exclusive deals and success stories.
  • Maximizing sales opportunities by understanding customer needs and promoting the unique value proposition of our products.
  • Working autonomously to achieve sales targets and KPIs, demonstrating a strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth sales process from start to finish.

To be the National Account Manager you will have:

  • A proven track record in chemicals sales, ideally with experience in lubricants, coolants, hydraulic fluids, refrigerants, or related products.
  • A strong understanding of sales processes and the ability to follow them diligently to achieve results.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the role.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
