We are supporting one of our Northampton-based clients to find a resilient, communicative, and proactive bookkeeper with 3 years of experience in a similar role and an accounting qualification. The successful candidate will be in charge of all the bookkeeping for a portfolio of 80 rental properties and liaise with the internal functions of the business, including the maintenance team, property managers, as well as the tenants.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 1pm (20hrs per week).

Responsibilities:

  • Track rental income, tenant deposits, and property expenses, such as maintenance and utilities.
  • Chase missed rent payments.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, prepare landlord statements, reconcile bank accounts, and monitor cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with property-related tax regulations, assist with budgeting, and generate financial reports for property performance.
  • Maintain records for property acquisitions, sales, and leases while supporting property managers with financial data.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audits and tax filing.
  • Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Accounting qualification e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4 or CTA (Desired).
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
  • Confident verbal and written communication with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure.
  • Quick and proactive work ethic.
