We are actively recruiting for a new job opportunity with an accountancy firm based in Northampton, who are hiring for a Bookkeeper.

The Bookkeeper position would suit someone who has either worked in an accountancy firm or has solid bookkeeping / VAT experience and experience of relevant IT systems. Any knowledge of sage, xero etc would be beneficial.

The firm are ideally looking for 2 people on a part-time basis but will consider hiring one full-time person instead.

The Role:

Due to recent client growth, the firm is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the team on a part-time basis, offering flexible hours that can accommodate school schedules. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, invoicing, payroll support, and maintaining accurate records in accounting software. The firm is looking for a candidate with proven bookkeeping experience, attention to detail, and proficiency in software like Xero or QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping duties for a variety of clients.
  • Process financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare reports.
  • Handle VAT returns and liaise with HMRC where necessary.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Work closely with the wider accounting team to support client needs.
