Estate Services Operative required, located in Northampton, Monday to Friday working 6am to 2pm £24,378 to £26.601 per annum Permanent Role + Benefits. Enhanced DBS required. Closing date for applications is Friday 7th March

We are looking for a capable and motivated individual to join our clients Estate Services team working at an education establishment located in Northampton.

As an Estate Services Operative you will be working as a caretaker / handy man to ensure that all buildings, structures and ancillary equipment is maintained to required standards. The role will involve the following

  • Ensure that furniture, teaching, facilities, fixtures and fittings are maintained and cleaned
  • Carry out any minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, repairing leaky taps, toilets and touching up paintwork.
  • Escalate any required repairs to the helpdesk
  • Empty bins, keep the gardens grounds and car parks clean and tidy and free from debris
  • Repairing potholes
  • Carry out furniture equipment and office removals as and when required.

To be considered for this role the successful candidate will ideally have a level 2 trades qualification in either electrical, plumbing or carpentry. You will have previously worked in a similar role as a handyman or caretaker or have worked as a tradesman. You will be a team player but are someone who is capable of working on their own initiative. You will have a flexible attitude to meet the business needs and will be happy to engage with college staff and students in a positive manner.
