Concession Food & Beverage Manager
Location: Northampton
Reporting to: Food Service Operations Manager
Department: Catering
Hours: 40 hours per week plus some weekends

About Us:
At our clients esteemed venue, we cater to a diverse array of needsfrom small gatherings requiring simple tea and coffee to grand hospitality functions accommodating up to 1,000 guests. Our operations extend throughout the year, seven days a week, delivering over 30,000 business lunches annually. With a strong emphasis on local sourcing and in-house cooking, the team consists of 27 full-time chefs, managers, supervisors, and front-of-house staff, alongside a dynamic pool of over 40 part-time colleagues.

Job Purpose:
As our clients venue experiences significant growth and development, we are on the lookout for a dynamic and innovative Concession Food & Beverage Manager to join their senior team. This pivotal role involves managing the event concessions food & beverage business with a focus on innovation, customer satisfaction, and profitability. By working closely with third-party operators and our clients in-house teams, you will lead service and product development, directing your team to exceed customer expectations consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Excellence:

  • Continuously monitor, develop, and evolve service culture and standards to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Implement strategies to enhance customer interactions and satisfaction, ensuring every event leaves a lasting impression.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the profit & loss account, including conducting month-end and annual budgeting processes.
  • Monitor weekly and monthly event profit & loss forecasts, identify issues, and develop action plans.
  • Conduct product sales analysis and annual pricing tariff reviews to enhance profitability.

Operational Support:

  • Provide seamless support for live events and manage last-minute requests efficiently.
  • Coordinate concession food & beverage assets for deployment, ensuring service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved.

Product Innovation:

  • Implement product standards and innovation across all retail food & beverage concession outlets.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop key supplier relationships, enhancing our clients food & beverage operations.

Event Planning:

  • Work with service partners and internal stakeholders on major event planning, ensuring business briefs and sales targets are met.
  • Manage food safety and health & safety policies, ensuring compliance with top-tier local authority ratings.

Equipment Management:

  • Oversee the yearly equipment and catering asset audit process.
  • Manage temporary and hire equipment for short- and long-term requirements efficiently.

Team Leadership:

  • Mentor the team, supporting development while ensuring motivation and productivity remain high.
  • Deliver briefings, manage staffing resources, and conduct performance reviews to maintain a high-performing team.

Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and business partners to ensure collaborative success.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit strong financial management skills, including tracking event-by-event costs and income against budgets.
  • Drive product and service innovation while implementing and reviewing service standards and KPIs.
  • Proactively communicate business issues to key personnel and provide effective solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of health & safety, food safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospitality catering management IT systems.
  • Fluent in written & spoken English with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, organized and efficient.
  • Attention to detail and pride in your work.
  • Distinctive, professional, and warm personality.
  • Full clean UK driving license.
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and COSHH.
  • Personal License holder.
