HGV Class 1 Livehaul Drivers – BrackleyWe are recruiting for one of the UK's largest food businesses, playing a vital role in keeping the nation fed. If you're an experienced Class 1 driver, this is a great opportunity to join our team in Brackley.Hours and Shifts:• Hourly pay rate: Starting from £17.90 + £0.50 per hour bonus when transporting livestock.• Unsociable hours premium: Additional £1.25 per hour for hours worked between 18:00 - 06:00, including weekends.• Guaranteed weekly hours: 50 hours per week, with paid overtime and breaks.• Shift pattern: Sunday – Thursday, rotating start times.• Earnings: Minimum annual salary of £47,840, with potential for higher earnings depending on hours worked.Purpose of the Role: As a Class 1 Driver, your main responsibility will be transporting live poultry while ensuring the safety and welfare of the animals. You will also complete accurate driver records, perform pre-operation checks on vehicles, and communicate effectively with the transport office.Key Responsibilities:• Collect livestock from farms and safely deliver them to the Brackley site.• Ensure the security of the load and monitor bird welfare at all times.• Transport finished, refrigerated goods nationwide as required.• Complete all relevant paperwork (weighbridge slips, poultry transport certificates).• Provide shunting cover when necessary.• Maintain clear communication with the transport office regarding any issues or delays.• Follow Health and Safety regulations, including wearing the provided PPE.What We’re Looking For:• A minimum of 6 months of Class 1 driving experience.• A current CPC and Tacho Card.• No more than 9 points on your driving license.• A solid understanding of driver regulations.• Flexibility and a positive attitude.Training: Full Livehaul training will be provided.Immediate starts available.
