GBR Recruitment Ltd, are working in exclusive partnership with a well established progressive SME size food manufacturing company based in the heart of Northamptonshire, recruiting for a highly creative, highly innovative NPD Development Chef, to come up with new culinary delights to meet current market trends / tastes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating new product lines that can be produced in volume for B2B & retail customer markets.

This role could suit someone working in a professional Chef role, working with food manufacturing, hospitality, restaurants, hotels, gastro pubs or a bistro type setting.

Duties:

  • Produce culinary delights for customers to sample & approve
  • Develop fresh new ideas, that can be turned from conceptual ideas into new production runs, ready for customers shelves
  • Create recipes that can be followed & produces on a high volume scale, ensuring the factory has the capability to deliver such quantities
  • Producing specifications for the products developed in the NPD kitchen
  • Maintaining a list of the core ingredients / measures for all new lines
  • Ensure stock levels are kept in line with NPD requirements
  • Ensure the development kitchen is audit ready at all times
  • Attend production runs for new product launches
  • Evaluate current food lines & look at ways to improve them (CI)
  • Deliver effective / professional customer food presentations
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams & clients
  • Work closely with the Process Technologists / Technical teams
  • Liaise effectively with Production operations & Commercial teams
  • Turn conceptual ideas into reality

Attributes Desired:

  • Experienced in a NPD Chef / Creative Chef role or very similar
  • A passionate foodie, who is up to date with current food trends / tastes
  • Used to producing food that can be volumised (mass produced)
  • Food qualifications, plus time served within a professional kitchen
  • Strong professional communicator at all levels
  • Able to work within an SME sized business (flexible / adaptable)
