Hours: 40 Hours per week, Mainly Monday to Friday with occasional weekends as per business needs

The Role

As the Unit Chef Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, staff supervision and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, cooking when needed, managing the kitchen and catering operations ensuring we deliver high-quality meals that meet diverse dietary requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Manage and inspire the kitchen and catering team to ensure excellent performance and collaboration.
  • Compliance: Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations, including HACCP guidelines.
  • Budget Management: Oversee food purchasing and stock control, maintaining cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks and gather feedback to continuously improve dining services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the hospital’s dieticians, nursing staff, and management to support holistic patient care.

About You

  • We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced culinary professional with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. You should have:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare or catering environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • A solid understanding of dietary requirements and nutritional standards.
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene and Safety qualification or equivalent or be willing to undertake
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining high standards under pressure.
