Job Description: Commercial Manager

Role Overview
A full-time, on-site role for a Commercial Manager based in Northampton, with regular site visits required. The role involves overseeing the commercial aspects of construction projects, developing business plans, managing contracts, and leading the commercial functions of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate forecasts of project costs to completion/final value.
  • Monitor cash flow and valuation plans.
  • Manage subcontract tender processes and subcontractor accounts.
  • Prepare accurate reports on project costs and values.
  • Oversee contract management and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Work closely with clients, developers, and local authorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial management, contract administration, and civil groundwork.
  • Experience with earthworks, highways, sewage, and roads projects.
  • Understanding of NEC3, NEC4, or JCT contract forms.
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial management or business operations within the construction sector.
