- Set up and operate CNC lathes (turning machines) to produce precision-engineered components according to technical specifications.
- Program CNC machines and make necessary modifications to optimise performance, reduce cycle times, and improve efficiency.
- Choose and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures, ensuring proper calibration for accurate machining.
- Use precision measuring instruments to inspect components and verify they meet tight tolerances and engineering standards.
- Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to produce high-accuracy components.
- Load raw materials, check material specifications, and ensure proper setup before machining.
- Continuously monitor machining operations, identifying and correcting any deviations or quality issues in real-time.
- Diagnose machine faults, perform routine maintenance, and liaise with maintenance teams for more complex repairs.
- Optimise machining speeds, feeds, and tool paths to enhance productivity while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment in line with industry standards.
- Proven experience
- Ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings.
