CNC Turner Location: NorthamptonSalary: £37,500+ DOEHours: 38 hours per weekWe are seeking an experienced CNC Turner, for a family run organisation based in Northampton. This is a rare opening as our client has a long serving team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes (turning machines) to produce precision-engineered components according to technical specifications.
  • Program CNC machines and make necessary modifications to optimise performance, reduce cycle times, and improve efficiency.
  • Choose and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures, ensuring proper calibration for accurate machining.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect components and verify they meet tight tolerances and engineering standards.
  • Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to produce high-accuracy components.
  • Load raw materials, check material specifications, and ensure proper setup before machining.
  • Continuously monitor machining operations, identifying and correcting any deviations or quality issues in real-time.
  • Diagnose machine faults, perform routine maintenance, and liaise with maintenance teams for more complex repairs.
  • Optimise machining speeds, feeds, and tool paths to enhance productivity while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment in line with industry standards.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience 
  • Ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in self-inspection of machined components to ensure quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
