An exciting Pre-construction/Technical Lead opportunity has arisen in an esteemed, award winning Roofing Contracting Group. Our client is recruiting for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their Commercial team in the next exciting phase of the business growth.If you have experience in Roofing, Cladding, Facades, or the wider construction industry and are looking to move your career forward with a progressive, highly reputable contractor, this role could be a perfect fit for you.Location: Northwest/Midlands or South (With regular travel to other Project Locations within the UK)Salary & Benefits: £NEG Depending on experience + Company Vehicle, Company Bonus and PackageKey Responsibilities:
  • Assess the scope of works and products offered for technical feasibility.
  • Produce calculations for Thermal/condensation risk analysis, Structural decking calculation and load/span analysis, Wind load analysis for roof and wall systems, Fixing uplift calculations, Rainwater calculations, Static calculation for support systems.
  • Attend design meetings when required to offer advice on system detailing.
  • Collaborate with the design and estimating departments to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Conduct thorough technical evaluations, considering factors such as materials, structural integrity, thermal performance, and other relevant criteria.
  • Prepare detailed technical submission documents, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide alternative recommendations when initially proposed solutions are deemed unsuitable. Work closely with the estimator and quantity surveyor to assess and communicate cost differences.
  • Obtain client approvals for technical submissions and products offered, addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Generate comprehensive calculations for various project aspects and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical analyses, calculations, and approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend design meetings and collaborate with external consultants, architects, and stakeholders as needed to address technical queries and provide necessary information.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes impacting technical aspects of construction projects.
  • Provide ongoing support and expertise to the project team, addressing technical challenges or modifications during the construction phase.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvement and optimization in the pre-construction and technical analysis workflow.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Experience of working on high value, Commercial Roofing/Cladding Projects
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and systems.
  • Proficient in relevant software for technical calculations and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to conduct detailed technical evaluations and provide alternative solutions when necessary.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on industry advancements.
  • Problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and modifications during the project lifecycle.
