Health and Safety Advisor

Health & Safety Advisor - Northamptonshire

350 per day (Outside IR35)

5 days per week on site

3 Month Duration - Likely Extension

Are you an experienced health and safety freelancer with a background in hard facilities management and the management of contractors on site?

There is an opportunity to play a key role in high-risk, heavy engineering operations on a critical part of the site. You'll work closely with the team, liaise with contractors, develop risk assessments and method statements, and implement contractor control procedures.

Responsibilities for the Health & Safety Consultant:

• Working closely with contractors ensuring best practice for health and safety
• Conducting and documenting comprehensive health and safety risk assessments and method statements, operating procedures, and developing training materials as part of a newly enhanced health and safety programme.
• Creating and managing detailed action plans based on risk assessments to ensure compliance and safety improvements.
• Assisting in the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the health and safety management system.
• Collaborating closely with shop floor teams across the company, providing guidance and support to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Promoting best practices across the facility, with a focus on the safe use and monitoring of heavy and high-risk machinery

The successful Health & Safety Consultant / Risk Assessor will have:

• Proven experience in a similar advisory role, ideally within hard facilities management, services, machine maintenance, manufacturing, automotive, or mechanical industries.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications (eg. NEBOSH or NCRQ qualified)
• Experience working with external contractors, writing risk assessments, safe systems of work, policies and procedures
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
