An exciting new opportunity due to business growth, reporting into the Head of Competency and Learning

PURPOSE:To lead, develop and manage training and learning functions, delivering high-quality professional development opportunities that align with the organisation’s strategic aims. The role will focus on expanding the training offer, driving innovation in learning delivery, enhancing internal competency, and supporting a culture of continuous learning

Strategic Development & Planning

  • Develop and deliver annual training and learning strategy, aligned with the organisational objectives and competency frameworks.
  • Identify training trends and emerging needs in the industry to inform the training portfolio.
  • Lead on the development of new learning streams, including hybrid delivery, accredited programmes, and professional qualifications.
  • Liaise with the COO and senior leadership to forecast and plan resource, budget, and delivery capacity.

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee and manage the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of all training and learning activity (in-person, online, certified, CPD).
  • Line-manage the Training Co-Ordinator or admin support roles (as the function grows).
  • Maintain and manage the annual training calendar, ensuring efficiency and alignment with wider business activities.
  • Oversee all logistical elements: trainer engagement, bookings, venue, facilities, platforms, and technical delivery.
  • Lead on the integration of training systems (e.g. LMS or YM) and ensure accurate logging and recording of CPD.

Quality, Reporting and Compliance

  • Develop and maintain evaluation and feedback systems to assess impact, relevance, and learner satisfaction.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly training reports for the Board and Management group, including financial analysis, attendance trends, and future planning.
  • Ensure all training aligns with relevant accreditation, CPD standards, and internal policies.
  • Maintain and update web content and communications in collaboration with the Comms team.

Stakeholder Engagement & Innovation

  • Build and manage relationships with internal departments, external trainers, partners, accrediting bodies, and the wider industry.
  • Lead the development of innovative delivery formats (e.g. webinars, microlearning, digital badges).
  • Promote and grow training brand through marketing, partnership opportunities, and community engagement.
  • Represent the business at training and learning events, where relevant.

Project Leadership & Development

  • Work closely with the Competency & Learning Lead on projects including the delivery of career pathways, CPD audits, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead cross-departmental projects to embed learning into core business activities.
  • Support international development of training programmes (e.g. Hong Kong office).

Key skills/experience/education

Essential

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a training, learning & development, or educational role
  • Experience designing, delivering, or coordinating a range of training offers
  • Confident working with data, platforms, and systems (e.g. LMS, CRM, Excel)
  • Experience working with budgets, forecasting, and reporting metrics
  • Familiarity with professional development standards and CPD frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Line management or supervisory experience
  • Experience with accreditation, awarding bodies, or regulated training
  • Familiarity with membership organisations or professional institutes
  • Knowledge of learning technologies, digital content creation, or eLearning design

HOURS OF WORK: (35 Hours) Mon- Thursday 9-5pm, Friday 9-4pm
