Job DescriptionOur client, a busy FM maintenance contractor, is seeking a dedicated and skilled site-based Electrical Engineer to join their maintenance team in Northampton. Working in a live hospital environment, this role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable working in a mental health ward. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check through Hays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and Plant Maintenance: Perform a variety of electrical maintenance tasks, including generator checks, air handling unit maintenance, and patient damage repair.
  • Reactive Services: Address urgent issues such as malfunctioning key fobs and lighting problems in the wards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a small team of 4 engineers, taking ownership of electrical works.
  • M&E/Building Fabric Maintenance: Maintain all M&E and building fabric PPM and reactive activities in line with KFS quality management standards for internal and external audits.
  • Mechanical Works: Understanding of mechanical works is beneficial.
  • Quality and Compliance Inspections: Conduct site and work inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Minor Works and Projects: Implement minor works and projects, such as pricing and installing dimmable lights, and ensuring proper electrical installation.
  • Health and Safety: Collaborate with the contracts manager to adhere to health and safety policies, fostering a positive and effective work environment.
  • NICEIC Obligations: Fulfil electrical NICEIC obligations to ensure site compliance.
  • Electrical Authorised Person: LV or HV/LV authorisation is desirable.

Essential Qualifications

  • ECS Card: Any level is acceptable.
  • Enhanced DBS: Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check through Hays.
  • NVQ Level 3 / C&G 18th Edition
