The Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Electrician to join the Housing Repairs Team, delivering essential electrical remedial work, testing, and inspections across the council's social housing stock. The role involves both occupied and void properties, with occasional rewire projects, and participation in a 1-in-4 out-of-hours call out rota.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing electrical repairs and remedial works in both void and tenanted homes
  • Conducting testing and inspections to ensure full compliance
  • Supporting rewiring works primarily in void properties
  • Accurately recording and reporting on works completed
  • Participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota (1 in 4)
  • Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with all relevant regulations

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within social housing
  • Relevant electrical qualifications and a strong background in testing and inspection
  • Experience with rewire and remedial works
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
  • Strong awareness of health and safety standards
  • Flexibility to participate in the on-call rota
