We are working with a highly regarded independent school in Northamptonshire to recruit a Personal Assistant to the Headteacher. This is a permanent role set to commence at the end of September or October 2024. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Headteacher and managing the school’s office and administrative functions.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Headteacher, including handling confidential matters.
  • Manage the school’s office, secretarial, and administrative functions, ensuring efficiency and compliance with relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Line manage administrative staff, overseeing their induction, training, and performance management.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents/carers, colleagues, and external contacts.
  • Efficiently manage the Headteacher’s diary, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, including minute-taking.
  • Maintain and review school policy files, ensuring they are up-to-date with current legislation and guidance.
  • Handle communication with governors, staff, students, parents/carers, and external agencies on behalf of the Headteacher.
  • Assist in investigations and casework as required.
  • Coordinate school-related marketing, advertising, and publication projects.
  • Develop and review administrative procedures and systems, ensuring proper management controls.
  • Oversee mail circulation and maintain accurate records on school systems, including data for statutory returns.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Personal Assistant or in a similar administrative role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficient in using office systems and technology.
  • Experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
