Job Purpose:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and will be comfortable handling bookkeeping duties such as accounts payable/receivable, tax preparation and reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounts inbox and accurately record purchase invoices in Xero.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and promptly resolve invoice and supplier queries.
- Prepare scheduled payment runs in line with supplier terms and process ad-hoc payments via the bank system.
- Oversee credit control, ensuring timely collection of overdue balances.
- Reconcile bank statements to maintain financial accuracy.
- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring precise tracking of income, expenses, and cash flow.
- Generate key financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
- Assist in budget preparation and implement cost control measures to enhance financial performance.
- Prepare and submit tax returns.
- Complete VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external accountants to support financial reporting and compliance.
- Supervise the purchase ledger and ensure efficient processing of transactions.
- Process payroll (preferred but not essential).
Person Specification:
- Proficiency in using Xero
- Attention to detail and accurate data entry
Experience:
- Working within an e-commerce business is advantageous but not essential
- Minimum 2 years in a similar finance role
