WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our client seeks a forward-thinking executive who is passionate about education and can drive financial excellence across the Trust. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership and Strategic Support
- Support the CEO and Trust Board in achieving strategic objectives and uphold Trust values through visible leadership.
- Provide financial expertise and support in Trust strategic planning, financial strategies, and self-evaluation processes.
- Lead financial planning for new schools and growth initiatives, ensuring smooth integration into Trust systems.
2. Financial Oversight and Compliance
- Oversee and manage the Trust's financial systems, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, ESFA regulations, and financial best practices.
- Provide accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budget projections for the Trust Board, Finance Committee, and stakeholders.
- Lead procurement processes and maintain efficient finance systems to ensure value for money across the Trust.
3. Team Management and Development
- Lead and manage the finance team, including recruitment, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Support Headteachers and finance contributors across the Trust to ensure they meet financial objectives and comply with finance policies.
- Foster a collaborative environment, providing guidance and motivation to drive team effectiveness and continuous improvement.
4. Performance Monitoring and Standards
- Monitor financial performance of Trust academies, identify improvement areas, and ensure actions are taken to support school effectiveness.
- Advise on resource allocation and financial policy changes to support schools in achieving educational goals and financial stability.
- Engage with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to enhance Trust performance and compliance.
5. Growth and Development
- Conduct financial due diligence and risk assessments for new or transferring schools, ensuring comprehensive project management and smooth transitions.
- Support resource generation strategies to secure additional funding and resources for Trust development.
6. Financial Systems and Reporting
- Ensure the effectiveness of finance management systems, including budget planning, capital investments, and cash flow management.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Manage compliance with regulatory requirements for audits, VAT, pensions, and financial statements.
7. Stakeholder Relationships and Collaboration
- Develop strong relationships with ESFA, DfE, local authorities, and Trust personnel to promote effective communication and knowledge sharing.
- Provide financial advice and professional accounting expertise to staff, ensuring capability across finance operations.
