Senior Finance Business Partner - Projects

As a Senior Finance Business Partner - Projects, you will play a key strategic role in overseeing the financial performance of ongoing projects, ensuring robust financial controls, and driving commercial decision-making. You will work closely with senior management and the wider finance team to provide insightful financial analysis and reporting that supports business growth and profitability. You will be responsible for preparing financial models to portray various business scenarios relating to ongoing projects, and presenting these to senior management.

What you'll do

  • Leading the financial management of project portfolios, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Acting as the key finance liaison for internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic financial guidance to optimise project profitability.
  • Overseeing project cost tracking from initiation to final reconciliation, ensuring alignment with budgets and financial targets.
  • Delivering insightful analysis on project performance, income, and cost of sales to senior leadership.
  • Managing project sales invoicing, client reporting, and monthly financial reviews.
  • Leading on process improvements and financial efficiencies across the finance team, in relation to ongoing projects.

What you'll need

  • Fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or QBE, with extensive project finance experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to analyse complex financial data and influence decision-making.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex financial modelling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and advanced formulae.
  • Experience with different financial systems.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes and drive financial improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior leadership.
