The Role:

The Neuropsychiatry service in Northampton have an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to develop and strengthen their experience whilst having the chance to develop research and clinical ideas. This service is forward-thinking, open to new ideas and a holistic approach is taken to patient care and treatment.

We currently have a full time position covering Tallis and Redwood, However we would consider part time applicants who can cover one of the wards.

Tallis:

A 12-bed inpatient care and rehabilitation unit for adult men who have an acquired/traumatic brain injury and who experience complex behavioural, psychiatric and emotional difficulties.

Tallis is a specialist admission and stabilisation unit for adult men with a formal psychiatric or neurological diagnosis of brain injury that may have resulted in cognitive deficits or behavioural changes that in turn require neurobehavioral treatment in an in-patient setting

Redwood:

Redwood is a 10-bed ward and part of our specialist dementia hub, The setting represents a significant step forward in the care and support of people with dementia who present with complex behaviours, or may have restrictions imposed by the MHA or criminal justice service.

The post-holder will be able to undertake non-clinical activities of interest e.g. research, teaching, governance and management - in an innovative way, and influence the direction of services in order for them to attain the best outcomes for our patients.

The Service:

Our Neuropsychiatry Division offers specialist services for patients with Dementia and Acquired Brain Injury. The care and rehabilitation offered is recognised for being at the forefront of innovative service developments, for its excellence in service delivery and for its ability to manage and reduce the risks associated with these conditions.

The Neuropsychiatry Division also offers an excellent opportunity to deliver value-based healthcare focusing on clinical outcomes. The service uses a variety of outcomes, both patient facing and quality improvement focused, to complement clinical decisions and guide strategic direction.
