Job Summary
Matthew James Recruitment are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Dispatch Manager to oversee our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the dispatch team, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain processes.

Work Hours - 3am until 1pm Monday- Friday

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the dispatch team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Utilise transportation management systems to optimise routes and schedules for deliveries.
  • Conduct data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of shipments and inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Analyse logistics processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the dispatch process.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide training and support to team members on best practices in dispatch operations.
  • Ensure excellent phone etiquette is maintained during all communications with clients and partners.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a dispatch role.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems and AS400 software is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices related to logistics operations is desirable.
  • Previous experience in data entry is essential, along with proficiency in relevant software applications.
