Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Homelessness Review Officer to lead and manage statutory housing reviews under Part 7, Section 202 and, where required, Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996. You will ensure all decisions made by the Housing Advice and Options Service are legally compliant, fair, and robust while delivering a high standard of service to applicants.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage statutory reviews, ensuring completion within legal timeframes and in line with legislation, case law, and best practice.
  • Ensure legal compliance by providing expert oversight, quality assurance, and feedback on decisions.
  • Manage a personal caseload, including complex and high-profile reviews, conducting thorough investigations, and producing high-quality decision letters.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including legal representatives, advocacy groups, and partner agencies, to ensure transparency and fairness.


Requirements:

  • Experience as a Homelessness Review Officer, specifically handling Section 202 housing reviews.
  • Strong understanding of homelessness legislation, case law, and housing allocation policies.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment, with occasional travel to meet customers.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and analytical skills.
