We are seeking an Experienced School Premises Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive individual with a strong background in maintenance, health and safety, and facilities management within a school or similar environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the school premises are maintained to a high standard, carrying out routine and reactive maintenance tasks.
Oversee the general upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
Manage and maintain health and safety standards, including carrying out regular risk assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting).
Set up and clear areas for events, meetings, and activities as required.
Liaise with contractors for more complex repairs and maintenance.
Maintain records related to building maintenance and health and safety inspections.
Ensure that the school is a safe and secure environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a school or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
Excellent DIY/maintenance skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry).
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Flexible approach to work, including early starts and the ability to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours.
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Experience in maintaining building systems such as heating, lighting, and security.
Ability to carry out risk assessments and manage compliance with school policies.
Essential Requirements:
Enhanced DBS check on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
Ability to work unsupervised, using your initiative and problem-solving skills.
A flexible, hands-on approach with a positive attitude to all tasks.
