Purpose Of The Role:

To Lead the outbound despatch team in the smooth running of outbound operations in response to customer requests and network standards in a cost effective and efficient manner, maximising profit whilst not compromising quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and lead the department by ensuring that all administration, reporting and quality procedures are complied with
Correct administration and monitoring of outbound operation and use of various Dachser Tools (including but not limited to Domino, Outbound Planning Tool, Customs Hub, Dakosy, etc.)
Monitor customer compliance with Export documentation to facilitate error-free Customs processing; assistance and guidance with Dachser requirements for Customs documents; and helping resolve customs issues in order to expedite dispatch of export orders
Pre-planning of outbound freight for cross docking Processing of vehicles and loading space, domestic and european
Preparation and despatch of trunk vehicles, including customs processes, hazardous and driver paperwork where required
Administration and processing of shipment details and transport documents
Yield management
Processing vehicle movements within the Yard Management System
Manage suppliers effectively to minimise cost and ensure consistent service
Cost accrual and processing of purchase invoices where required Ensure that profit is maximised at all opportunities without compromising quality
To efficiently respond to customer and network requests for all outbound services to provide cost effective and efficient solutions ensuring that operational deadlines are adhered to
Ensure compliance of standard operating procedures Maintain quality standards and excellent customer service
Produce, analyse and manage identified Key Performance Indicators for all outbound activity and ensure that targets are met
Proactively lead the efficiency and effectiveness of the outbound operations ensuring that activity is optimised with the needs of other departments in the business
To liaise with other departments in Northampton and the UK as well as other branches in the network ensuring good working relations

Skills & Experience:

Commercial acumen and ability to understand how to maximise profit and maintain quality
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Ability to remain calm under pressure and to organise workload to maximise personal efficiency
Customer focus
Excellent communications skills
Ability to solve problems and good analytical skills
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of UK and European Road Operations with proven track record
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Organised and able to deal with a high volume of customer requests
Excellent IT skills
High degree of integrity and able to work confidentially
Ability to work on own initiative and to take responsibility and ownership to deliver quality service to the customer
Established knowledge of the European Road industry
Experience at a team leader level
Customs experience
Experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
