Outsourcing Assistant

AJ Chambers are proud to be representing a top 50 firm based in Northampton. They are on a look our for an outsourcing assistant.

Our firm have multiple offices across London, the south and an office in northhampton. This opportunity has been created to join their growing team to assist there outsourcing team. As a growing firm they are always looking to offer development opportunities and offer progression.

Your responsibilities

  • Foster strong working relationships within the team and with clients as needed.
  • Enhance and apply your technical skills through hands-on experience and formal qualifications.
  • Utilize accounting software to generate precise reports for Managers, Partners, and clients.
  • Prepare straightforward reconciled management reports for clients, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist in preparing basic tax computations and returns, such as corporation tax.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT returns for sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships.
  • Compile working papers, including bank reconciliations, VAT reconciliations, and other control account reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the preparation and finalization of statutory accounts under the guidance of your Manager.

Your skills/qualifications

  • A proactive and self-assured individual, recognising the importance of fostering positive client relationships alongside effective internal collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to manage a diverse range of clients within a given month.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, demonstrating a well-organised approach to work; able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Adept at applying technical accounting knowledge to real-world client scenarios.
  • Solid understanding of UK GAAP, with familiarity with IFRS being desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Xero and Excel, and a quick learner of new software packages.
  • Experience with Sage and CCH would be an added advantage.
  • Must have minimum of 1 year experience in practice outsourcing.
  • Ideally AAT qualified, intention of working towards ACCA/ACA/CIMA
