Permanent position


A successful, well established and respected Engineering company, based in Northampton, are currently looking for an experienced and capable Powder Coater to join their team.

For the right candidate, this opportunity will be with an established company, working on modern, cutting-edge equipment in a clean and tidy environment. There will be the opportunity of progression and learning new skills to aid your ongoing career development.


Duties will include:

  • Working Mondays - Thursdays: 7:00am 3:30pm and Fridays: 7:00am 3:00pm
  • Preparing material surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary
  • Operating modern powder coating plant, equipment and associated tools
  • Inspecting finished products for quality and making any necessary touch-ups or repairs as required
  • Following health & safety guidelines and wearing the correct PPE at all times
  • Working both alone and as part of a wider team
  • Communicating any faults or issues with equipment or plant to management at the earliest opportunity
  • Completion of any production paperwork as required
  • Keep your working area and equipment clean and tidy at all times to avoid imperfections in the finish of the coatings

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience in powder coating a wide range of metal parts and to different finishes is required
  • Ability to use relevant hand tools and power tools effectively
  • Skills for measuring and mixing coatings if required
  • Ability to work in an industrialised environment with varying temperatures and physical demands
  • Experience of hanging and jigging components is also required
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • Uses common sense & a proactive attitude towards your duties when working unsupervised
  • Have good communication skills at various levels
  • Full training on the plant, equipment and it's operation will be given, although previous experience will be necessary
