Job Overview:

My client is looking for a Supplier Auditor to join the team. The role focuses on ensuring suppliers meet the required standards for food safety, product quality, and compliance. As a key player in the food supply chain, you will conduct thorough supplier audits, approve product specifications, and ensure all product labelling complies with industry regulations.

This is a remote role with frequent travel to supplier sites, making it ideal for someone based in the Midlands. You will work closely with suppliers to maintain and improve food safety standards and resolve customer complaints through detailed auditing and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supplier audits focusing on food safety and compliance, particularly in alignment with BRC and SALSA standards.
  • Approve supplier product specifications and ensure they meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Review and approve product labels to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilise customer online systems to manage audit data, supplier documentation, and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to supplier issues, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to continuously improve food safety practices and maintain certification standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in supplier auditing/auditing within a food manufacturing company.
  • Preferably holds a Lead Auditor qualification with hands-on experience conducting food safety audits (Desirable)
  • Familiarity with BRC and SALSA accreditation processes.
  • Experience with specification and label approval processes in food production.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to use customer online systems for managing complaints, audit documentation, and supplier information.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites
