We are looking for a dedicated person to join our team in Northampton to support as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant.

Role Overview:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a specific student within the classroom, helping them to access the curriculum, improve their learning outcomes, and develop confidence. This role requires a patient and empathetic approach, as well as strong communication skills to work collaboratively with the class teacher, other staff members, and the student's family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to a student with [specific needs, e.g., special educational needs, physical disabilities, or behavioral challenges].
  • Support the student in the classroom, helping them to engage with lessons and complete tasks.
  • Monitor the student's progress and adapt support to meet their evolving needs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of tailored learning plans.
  • Foster positive relationships with the student to encourage social and emotional growth.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and other professionals to discuss progress and support strategies.
  • Help to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting (experience in 1:1 support is a plus).
  • Knowledge of child development and understanding of special educational needs (SEN).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children.
  • A proactive team player, willing to collaborate and share ideas.
