Our schools are looking for proactive individuals who are not afraid to get stuck in with the tasks of the day. We need people who can handle a variety of behavioural challenges but understand how rewarding it is to work with SEND learners.

Job Description:
Do you have experience working in care environments and are looking to transition into Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking individuals with experience supporting adults or children with additional needs. If you have a background in care and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs.
  • Assisting teachers in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Proactively engaging in daily tasks and activities.
  • Managing and responding to a variety of behavioural challenges with patience and empathy.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in care environments, supporting adults or children with additional needs.
  • CACHE/NVQ Level 2 qualification or higher in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to engage in all aspects of school life.
  • Resilience and the ability to handle behavioural challenges positively.
