We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide essential support to students, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during school activities.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet individual student needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on their academic, emotional, and social development.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering students' confidence and self-esteem.
  • Work closely with the wider school team, including SENCO, teachers, and external agencies, to create tailored support plans for each student.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress, identifying any additional support they may need.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, either in an educational setting or other relevant environments.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential; what matters most is your passion and dedication to supporting young people.
