Role: Sociology Teacher

Start Date: January 2025 

Pay: £150 - £250 per day 

We are currently working with a secondary school based around the Northampton area, supporting them recruit a Sociology Teacher to start full time from January 2025. 

Key Responsibilities:• Plan and deliver individualised Sociology lessons that are aligned with the student's academic level and learning objectives.• Teach a range of topics at GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent levels.• Ability to promote subject understanding, engagement and motivation in students.• Remain patient and flexible in the approach to learning by adapting lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.• Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.• Possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.• Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.Requirements:• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Sociology.• Experience in some of the following areas is essential: GCSE and/or A-Level Sociology.• Excellent knowledge of the Sociology curriculum and related topics.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one-to-one setting.• Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.• A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
