About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Peterborough. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have a range of learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other SEN needs, to help them access the curriculum and develop their skills in a nurturing environment. You will support both inside and outside the classroom, working alongside teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to SEN students.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to monitor student progress and contribute to their educational development.
  • Help with personal care tasks as necessary.
  • Foster a safe and encouraging learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with SEN students is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work well in a team and take direction from teachers and senior staff.
  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning or similar would be advantageous.
