We are seeking an HR Advisor who has a CIPD Level 5 qualification within HR and has a good understanding of Employment Law.Your role is to provide effective technical and professional guidance, ensuring our service maintains high standards and meets statutory requirements.The role will be varied and require the candidate be highly proactive, flexible and to 'roll their sleeves up', ideally with experience of working in a small team environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations
  • Good understanding and knowledge of employment law, ensuring kept fully up to date with any legislation changes.
  • Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods (e.g. employee appraisal systems)
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation
  • Supporting the HR manager with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary
  • Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation's objectives
  • Assisting in organising employer branding initiatives
  • Acting as the point of contact for hiring managers, employees and other HR team members

Requirements and skills

  • Passionate about HR and people
  • An open, confident and passionate person who can work well with colleagues at all levels
  • Previous HR experience in providing advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations issues is essential.
  • Strong understanding of employment law with a generalist background
  • HR Qualification is essential / CIPD level 5 is preferred
