Senior Network Engineer
My fantastic client in Northampton is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to come on board on a permanent basis. The successful individual will ideally have 10 years networking experience and experience of design and build as well as general network support. The candidate will need strong experience of both wired and wireless networks as well as firewalls and security technologies.
The role involves a combination of:
- Project works including design and build new networks as part of various ongoing projects and changes.
- Support resolving incidents and acting as escalation point for network related issues from the team.
- Providing general technical direction to an experienced small network team.
- Working with the team to support and maintain existing networks.
The environment includes multiple manufactures technology including:
- Firewalls and advanced security technologies from Cisco and Sophos
- Wired networking from Cisco and Ruckus
- Wireless networking from Cisco, Ruckus and Extreme.
- Other network technologies including load balancers from Kemp.
Experience:
- 10 years Networking experience
- A formal network qualification CCNP or equivalent qualification
- Significant experience in multiple vendors environments including specifically (Extreme, Ruckus, Sophos, and Cisco) but ideally others.
- Some windows / VMware experience would be highly desirable.
- Experience of onsite installation work including racking equipment and cabling.
The individual needs to be either SC Security cleared or willing / able to undertake clearance.
The salary for this role is 60-70k per annum plus package depending on experience.
The role is a hybrid role with some element of working from our office in Northampton and some from home. The role involves travel to customer sites located across the UK to resolve incidents or complete projects and changes.
