Omega is seeking a highly motivated Senior Production Engineer, to join our client located in the Northampton area, who are a leader in the engineerin, motorsport and automotive sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, including CNC programming and new part introduction, within a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities - Senior Production Engineer

  • Craft CNC programs for advanced 4 & 5 axis machines and multi-axis turn-mills using Siemens NX & Vericut software.
  • Develop precision CNC grinding programs for a variety of specialized grinding machines.
  • Lead new part introduction (NPI) for both prototype and production projects, expertly managing short lead times.
  • Define and create efficient manufacturing routings and Bill of Materials (BOM) using SAP ERP.
  • Design innovative fixtures and tooling to support NPI projects and streamline production.
  • Drive improvements in tool life and cycle times by implementing cutting-edge technologies.
  • Mentor team members by supporting departmental training and career development programs.
  • Accurately estimate production times and related costs, ensuring efficient project delivery.
  • Continuously identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within manufacturing processes.
  • Champion health, safety, environmental, and energy standards in all activities.

Qualifications & Requirements - Senior Production Engineer

  • Demonstrated expertise in machining and programming complex components, with experience in the automotive or aerospace industry preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX CAD/CAM systems and Vericut simulation software.
  • Deep understanding of machining techniques, cutting strategies, and inspection processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to contribute to various tasks and support the team as needed.
