Hospitality Catering Assistant- Northampton based Education Establishment

Enhanced DBS Required

32.5 hours per week, 34 weeks a year

Monday to Friday working 1000 - 1700 hours

14,696.15 per annum (pro rata to the full time equivalent of £22,308.00 per annum)

We are working with a well known education establishment in Northampton and are currently recruiting for a Hospitality Catering Assistant to work within various food points and kitchens around the campus. You may also be required to help out at events outside of normal working hours either in the evenings and weekends.

The role will involve the following

  • The preparation of food and drink for students and staff at the College
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the hospitality areas within the College.
  • To observe correct working practices and to operate to the highest standards of Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
  • Carry out cleaning duties, including the kitchen, dining room and other eating and sales areas as required.
  • To ensure that food and other stores are secure.
  • To wash-up crockery, cutlery and utensils both manually and by machine
  • Operate sales recording equipment as required.
  • To complete necessary administrative procedures required in connection with sales

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will have the following

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • Experience of working within a similar role
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and H & S policies and procedures in a hospitality / catering environment.
  • Flexible approach to working to be able to support at weekends and evenings if required.
  • Strong customer service, time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when under pressure.
  • Food Hygiene certificates.
