Transport Controller Northampton Full time & part tim hourss between 6am – 7pm ( Monday to Friday )Competitive salary DOEWe are working on behalf of a growing transport logistics company who are looking for experienced transport planners to join their HO in Northampton. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of their haulage team, coordinating and optimising the movement of goods. The successful candidate will be highly organised, and detail orientated, with previous HGV transport planning experience.Key Duties:
  • Allocation of work to couriers across all size fleets up to HGV’s.
  • Taking bookings accurately and advising clients of our services.
  • Monitoring of jobs through to POD and completion.
  • Implementing and maintaining SLA’s.
  • Proactively keeping clients and employees informed of any delays, issues or deviations.
  • Ensure fleet size is sufficient to service clients - particularly during peak periods.
  • Any other duties instructed by Operations manager or directors
  • Ensure drivers achieve maximum revenue
  • Seek backloads for drivers.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous transport industry & HGV planning experience is essential
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients, couriers and suppliers and remain professional at all times.
  • Highly organised and proactive
  • Managing and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Acting on your own initiative without constant supervision.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Computer literate.
