Here at GXO, we are currently looking for a Solutions Designer to join our solutions team in Northampton. Reporting to the Head of Warehouse Solutions, you’ll be involved with creating, developing and presenting innovative, best in class warehouse solutions, which provide new and existing customers with significant cost benefits and enhancements to service levels. You will be responsible for bringing layouts and operational concepts for both manual and automated warehouses to life, with either 2D AutoCAD or 3D design, and rendering.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Work alongside new and existing customers, understanding their requirements before undertaking, creating and presenting solutions analysis and design
  • Work independently on warehouse design projects whilst supporting multiple projects, varying in scale and complexity
  • Develop a variety of operational concepts for both manual and automated solutions utilising innovation in order to meet customer requirements
  • Take responsibility of the project management of the analytical and costing process, ensuring best practice is maintained throughout
  • Provide assistance with the production of internal and external proposals and presentations including producing relevant sections and taking part in customer presentations as required

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Experienced in designing and presenting warehousing solutions to customers
  • Previous or current experience within 3PL and automation is essential
  • Highly autonomous, and experienced in responding to RFQs, data analysis in a highly customer-facing role
  • Highly proficient in excel and Auto-CAD, ideally with exposure to warehouse design software
  • Exposure and understanding of warehouse management systems would be beneficial
