Key Responsibilities for the Facilities Engineer Role:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on advanced systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS), mechanical, HVAC, pneumatics, fire suppression, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot and conduct first-line repairs of specialised equipment, such as testing rigs, rolling road equipment, autoclaves, CNC machines, lathes, and routers.
- Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment inventories, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment, working alongside internal teams to implement permanent corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure the reliability and safety of all systems.
- Manage and monitor spare parts inventories, TPM and PPM systems, and work within service budgets.
- Provide support on a day shift basis, with occasional flexibility for weekend coverage as required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours Required for the Facilities Engineer Role:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with experience maintaining high-performance or complex equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and a highly organised approach to maintenance planning and execution.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and apply this knowledge in real-time problem-solving scenarios.
- Proven track record of working in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments, such as manufacturing or advanced engineering.
- Exceptional communication and team collaboration skills.
- Flexibility to work independently or as part of a high-functioning team, with a proactive and professional attitude.
Working Conditions:
- Day Shift – Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend support on a rota basis.
