Key Responsibilities for the Facilities Engineer Role:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on advanced systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS), mechanical, HVAC, pneumatics, fire suppression, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct first-line repairs of specialised equipment, such as testing rigs, rolling road equipment, autoclaves, CNC machines, lathes, and routers.
  • Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment inventories, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment, working alongside internal teams to implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure the reliability and safety of all systems.
  • Manage and monitor spare parts inventories, TPM and PPM systems, and work within service budgets.
  • Provide support on a day shift basis, with occasional flexibility for weekend coverage as required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours Required for the Facilities Engineer Role:

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with experience maintaining high-performance or complex equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a highly organised approach to maintenance planning and execution.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and apply this knowledge in real-time problem-solving scenarios.
  • Proven track record of working in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments, such as manufacturing or advanced engineering.
  • Exceptional communication and team collaboration skills.
