A Midlands based manufacturer of plastic and polymer products for various industries, is now seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their growing business. This company develops components for small and large businesses globally, taking them from inception to DFM and production, providing low and high-volume manufacturing solutions to match their customer's needs.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing maintenance support to production, maximising the up time through PPM and reactive breakdown solutions.

As a Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include -

  • Improvements and rectifications on rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries, escalating details of breakdowns, solutions, timescales and costs
  • Documentation of maintenance tasks and issues, identifying route cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve recurring issues
  • Liaising with equipment suppliers, service support and contractors to remedy problems and order spares
  • Assisting in the introduction of new plant and equipment
  • Active participation in improvement projects, including the process, products and tooling
  • Identify, report and remedy any potential H&S concerns

To be successful in the role of Maintenance Engineer, the ideal candidate will -

  • Be a time served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with appropriate qualifications
  • Be educated to City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent
  • Have experience maintaining and repairing rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries
  • Have experience within a FMCG, manufacturing environment
  • Be experienced with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Be competent using workshop equipment

On offer -

  • A salary of £40,000 - £45,000
  • 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm

(Flexibility for candidate to choose to rotate weekly, or can choose either shift permanently)

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

  • Annual profit based company bonus scheme (£1,000 per employee last year)

Based in Northamptonshire, the Maintenance Engineer role is commutable from Rugby, Towcester, Kettering, Rushden all surrounding areas
