Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Northampton

Salary:circa £45,000 per annum
Shifts: 6am 2pm / 2pm 10pm (flexibility to choose rotating shifts or permanent shift)

Summary: Due to continued sustainable growth, we are seeking to recruit two outstanding Maintenance Engineers (Mechanical and Electrical) to work either a 6am 2pm or 2pm 10pm shift or rotating shift. The client is a family run business with a fabulous team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform improvements and rectifications on rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries.
  • Escalate breakdown details, solutions, timescales, and costs effectively.
  • Document maintenance tasks and issues, identifying root causes and remedial actions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers, contractors, and service support to resolve problems and order spares.
  • Assist in the introduction of new plant and equipment.
  • Participate in improvement projects, including process optimization, product enhancements, and tooling upgrades.
  • Identify, report, and rectify potential health and safety concerns.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment (ideally rubber and plastic processing machinery).
  • Proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Skilled in the use of workshop equipment.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
