Their products are an integral part of the technical, networking and telecoms industry and to ensure the efficiency of their manufacturing they are recruiting for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join the equipment maintenance team. This role will involve the hands-on fault finding, improvement and repairs of production equipment.

Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire

Salary: 40,500 - 54,000 (DoE)

Hours: 7am - 7pm & 7pm - 7am (Continental Shift Pattern)

Days: 4 on 4 off (2x Days & 2x Nights)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all equipment-related issues during the Continental shift pattern. Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Conduct thorough fault diagnosis and repairs on specialist processing equipment. Execute routine preventative maintenance tasks, including preparation of necessary tools and materials, inspection of components, and deep cleaning of equipment to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
  • Manage the storage, monitoring, and replenishment of critical chemicals and gases used in production processes. Oversee spare parts inventory, ensuring timely procurement and availability of essential components. Safely handle and dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Serve as the primary interface with equipment suppliers, spare parts vendors, and third-party service providers. Coordinate on-site visits by contractors and field service engineers, ensuring work quality and adherence to safety and operational standards. Supervise external personnel to ensure efficient and compliant task execution.
  • Support the development and execution of robust preventative maintenance programmes designed to maximise equipment utilisation, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and system uptime. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to refine and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Participate in and support engineering-led improvement initiatives, typically following an 8-step problem-solving format. Monitor project progress, ensure timely completion, and report results to stakeholders, focusing on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and submit detailed QOS uptime reports that include fault pareto analyses, action item tracking, and status updates. Provide actionable insights to management, highlighting trends and areas for potential improvement in equipment reliability and performance.
  • Act as a representative for the Equipment Engineering team in production, planning, and scrap review meetings. Provide expert input on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and improvement opportunities to support efficient production operations.
  • Comply fully with all site-specific safety protocols and environmental policies. Actively contribute to fostering a safe working environment by identifying hazards, following proper procedures, and participating in safety training and drills.
  • Participate in the site's emergency response team, providing assistance in crisis situations such as equipment failures or chemical spills. Ensure readiness by completing regular training and maintaining familiarity with response protocols.
  • Operate a forklift truck to support equipment movement, spares handling, or logistics tasks as required. Training and certification will be provided to ensure safe and compliant operation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience within a high-tech manufacturing setting, such as Pharmaceuticals, Aerospace, Automotive, or Motorsports industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to established procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Skilled in creating and documenting processes, including the development of work instructions, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Strong time-management and organisational abilities.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite and other computer applications.
  • Experienced in collaborative teamwork and stakeholder management.
