We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a leading plastic moulding site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulics, with experience in the maintenance and repair of machinery within a manufacturing environment.
Role Overview:
- Position: Maintenance Engineer
- Location: Northampton
- Industry: Plastic Moulding (Hydraulics Biased)
- Salary: 40,000 - 47,000 (depending on experience)
- Shift Pattern: Initially static Monday to Friday (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM), transitioning to rotating shifts (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on plastic moulding machines, with a focus on hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with the production team to identify and implement continuous improvement measures.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and assist with machine upgrades as necessary.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Expertise in hydraulic systems, including fault diagnosis and repair.
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to transition to rotating shifts in the future.
