Omega is seeking a highly motivated Production Engineer, to join our client located in the Northampton area, who are a leader in the engineering, motorsport and automotive sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, including CNC programming and new part introduction, within a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities - Production Engineer

  • Be involved in the development of CNC programs for advanced 4 & 5 axis machines and multi-axis turn-mills using various software packages.
  • Develop precision CNC grinding programs for a variety of specialized grinding machines.
  • Manage the timely and budget-conscious release of new products into production.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and test instructions for product builds.
  • Accurately estimate production timelines and costs.
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure seamless transitions from design to production, including rapid prototypes.
  • Work with the supply chain to identify potential cost reduction opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements - Production Engineer

  • Proven experience in machining complex components within the automotive or aerospace sectors.
  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification (Degree or minimum HNC).
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM systems (preferably NX12 or equivalent).
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of machining and inspection techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a willingness to adapt to changing project needs.
