Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Northampton

Rate: £30.00 - £35.00 (Outside IR35)

Initial 3 months contract with possible extention

Monday to Friday: (Apply online only) (Potential 2 days working from home)

Our Client are a leading provider of innovative engineering solutions, is looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. If you’re passionate about solving complex challenges and working on cutting-edge projects, this is the opportunity for you! 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing and developing mechanical systems and components for a variety of projects
  • Managing tasks and deliverables independently, ensuring quality and timely completion
  • Liase with suppliers regarding requirements, costs and performance
  • Working with Autodesk, SolidWorks, and Inventor to create 3D designs and technical drawings
  • Organise installations teams and ensure performance onsite
  • Contributing to the design of heavy industrial, special purpose machinery and systems
  • Collaborating with other engineers and team members to ensure project success

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, BSc) or equivalent, with alternative experience considered
  • Good teamworking skills
  • Efficient in problem solving
  • Strong experience with 3D design and drafting tools like SolidWorks or Inventor
  • Previous experience designing heavy industrial machinery, special purpose machinery and systems
  • Ability to work independently, managing tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • A proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills
